Laura and Lily Maddox: Beloved Mother and Daughter Remembered for Their Light and Love
The community of Maplewood is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Laura Maddox, 42, and her beloved daughter Lily Maddox, 12, who tragically passed away on April 5, 2026. Their sudden departure has left family, friends, and neighbors in deep sorrow, but their memory continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew them.
Laura, a devoted mother and passionate community volunteer, was known for her unwavering kindness, warm smile, and commitment to helping others. She worked tirelessly as a school counselor, offering guidance and support to countless students over the years. Outside of work, Laura had a love for painting, gardening, and hosting gatherings that brought joy to her home and neighborhood.
Lily, her spirited and curious daughter, was a bright light in every room she entered. Known for her love of books, science experiments, and dance, she had a natural gift for making people laugh and feel seen. Her creativity and gentle spirit touched everyone she met, and her presence was a source of endless joy to her family.
Together, Laura and Lily shared a bond filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering love. They will be remembered not only for their individual gifts but also for the remarkable way they shared life’s joys with each other and everyone around them.
A memorial service celebrating their lives will be held at Maplewood Community Church on April 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring their legacy and sharing stories of the love they brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the Maddox family requests donations be made to The National Literacy Foundation, a cause dear to Laura’s heart and reflective of the values she instilled in Lily.
