Gavyn Orlando Hartford City Obituary – 19-Year-Old Dies in Wells County Crash
HARTFORD CITY, Ind. — The Hartford City community is grieving the tragic loss of Gavyn Orlando, 19, who was killed in a serious vehicle crash on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Wells County.
According to authorities, emergency responders were dispatched around 2:47 p.m. to the scene of the accident near County Road 200 West and County Road 1200 South. Reports indicate that a white 2018 BMW, driven by 21-year-old Hunter Cooper of Hartford City, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control after crossing into Wells County.
Investigators say the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a utility pole on the passenger side with significant force, snapping it in half. The impact caused the vehicle to roll into a nearby field.
Hunter Cooper sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Another passenger, Anthony Dalley, 20, of Montpelier, was ejected from the vehicle and also hospitalized with injuries.
Tragically, Gavyn Orlando was pronounced dead at the scene.
