Remembering Branson Blevins: A Family’s Journey Through Loss and Love

Robertsdale, Alabama – It has been nearly six months since the heartbreaking loss of Branson Blevins, a brave young boy from Robertsdale who fought valiantly against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and complications from Adenovirus. Branson passed away last October in Rome, Italy, where his family had traveled for treatment.

Today, Branson’s mother, Nichole Blevins, opens her heart to share how she, her husband Donald, and their children Maddox and Magnolia are navigating life without him.

Nichole writes about the overwhelming grief and emptiness the family feels: “Losing Branson didn’t just break our hearts… it shattered our entire world. Every day we wake up and have to remember all over again that he’s gone. Some days, it still doesn’t feel real.”

Branson was the middle child, the glue between his siblings. His absence is felt in every corner of their home, in the empty conversations, and in the milestones he will never reach. Nichole reflects, “What hurts just as much as losing him is everything he’s missing. He should be here growing up with his sister and brother. He should just be here… living.”

Despite the pain, the Blevins family is finding ways to honor Branson’s spirit. They strive to “Live Like Branson”—embracing courage, love, and strength in the face of life’s darkest moments. Nichole and Donald are back at work, Maddox and Magnolia have returned to school, and the family continues to keep Branson’s memory alive through everyday acts of resilience and joy.

Nichole, who runs Nichole Blevins Photography, shared, “One thing we do hold onto is this… we want to live like Branson. The way he fought, the way he loved, the strength he had… it has become our life motto. We never want his name to be forgotten.”

Branson’s story continues to inspire friends, family, and the wider community. His courage reminds us all to cherish life, show love, and face challenges with a smile, just as he did.

Branson Blevins will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy of strength and love continues to light the way.
