Murder Suspect Sought After Fatal Shooting Over Vehicle Trade Disagreement in Alvin, Texas

ALVIN, Texas – Alvin police are actively searching for a murder suspect following the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Emad Siddiqui of Sugar Land. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, April 2, stemmed from a dispute over a vehicle trade.

Authorities responded after receiving a 911 call reporting that Siddiqui had been shot while traveling on State Highway 35. Officers located Siddiqui in the backseat of a car on the 3100 block of State Highway 35. He was immediately transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators traced the shooting to a nearby convenience store, roughly a mile south of where Siddiqui was found. Police confirmed that the disagreement over a previously arranged vehicle trade escalated into the deadly confrontation.

Eric Olvera, 23, of Alvin, has been charged with murder by warrant. He is currently not in custody, and the Alvin Police Department warns that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
