Zachary Snyder Obituary: Burlington Community Mourns 16-Year-Old Killed in Hebron Car Crash
BURLINGTON, Ky. — April 6, 2026 — The Burlington community is grieving the tragic loss of Zachary Snyder, a 16-year-old teen who died in a devastating single-vehicle crash late Sunday night on Bullittsville Road in Hebron.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 10:34 p.m. involving a 2015 Honda Accord. Snyder, who was seated in the front passenger seat, was ejected during the crash and became trapped underneath the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the 17-year-old driver failed to navigate a sharp right-hand curve, causing the car to cross the center line. An overcorrection led the vehicle off the roadway, where it struck multiple trees before overturning.
Three other occupants—two backseat passengers aged 17 and 18, along with the driver—were able to escape the wreckage. They were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities noted that speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash. Investigators also confirmed that neither Snyder nor the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, which may have worsened the outcome.
Bullittsville Road remained closed for several hours as the Accident Reconstruction Team conducted a detailed investigation. Officials continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine all contributing factors.
The sudden loss of Zachary Snyder has left family, friends, and the Boone County community in mourning, as tributes and condolences continue to pour in for the young life taken far too soon.
